Zalando enters Ireland and Czech Republic

EUROPE Internet fashion retailer Zalando is to enter the Czech and Irish markets , which will be the companies firs major expansion since 2013.

The Czech Republic will be the company’s second CEE market (after Poland) and the company hopes to benefit from the current boom in Czech internet sales. After entering the Czech Republic and Ireland Zalando will be present in 17 European countries across Europe and with the expansion the company hopes to gain access to a further 15.4 mln additional customers. “We are excited to bring Zalando to new customers, and we believe our unlimited assortment, personalised shopping experience, and substantial convenience will resonate well with Irish and Czech customers. We are tackling our expansion smartly, leveraging knowledge from our existing European markets. And we’re operating in the usual Zalando style: launch, learn, iterate, and scale,” said co CEO Rubin Ritter.
