Gdańsk commissions three car parks
The total cost of the construction will come to PLN 166.2 mln gross

POLAND Immo Park Gdańsk has signed a public private partnership agreement with the city of Gdańsk to construct four car parks with spaces for over 1,200 vehicles in the city centre.

The total cost of the construction will come to PLN 166.2 mln gross, of which Gdańsk will pay PLN 41.6 mln, around PLN 16 mln less than was earmarked in the city budget while the number of parking spaces will also be higher than originally planned. Underground car parks are to be built on ul. Podwale Przedmiejskie (260 spaces), on ul. Podwale Staromiejskie (337) and under the Targ Węglowy square (112) while an above-ground car park is to be build on ul. Długie Ogrody (493 spaces). Immo Park will have a concession to manage the facilities for 40 years until September 30th 2058. The first of the car parks will be built on ul. Długie Ogrody in 2020 and while the others should be delivered in the autumn of 2021. The car parks will use the Tristar system to inform drivers of how many spaces remain available.“The construction work will let us develop Targ Węglowy as a public city square. A meeting place is to be created here for the residents to use throughout the year. Also Ul. Długie Ogrody is to be rebuilt and it become far more pedestrian-friendly,” says Piotr Grzelak, the deputy mayor responsible for city development.
