Jysk plans City Stores

POLAND Jysk Polska has reported revenue of PLN 2.6 bln for the 2018 reporting year( September 1st, 2017 to August 31st).
The chain had a retail revenue of PLN 1.1 bln, representing a 12.2 pct y-o-y increase. The company’s EBIT came to PLN 159.2 mln. “This is the second year in a row that we have recorded excellent results with a double-digit increase in sales and the number of customers. Over the past financial year, we have continued to develop the Jysk chain in Poland,” states Piotr Padalak, the managing director of Jysk Polska.

“Over the past year we were visited by one million customers more than in the previous year,” he adds. The chain is currently working on its City Store concept with small stores and a selected range of goods. “The City Store concept has worked well in Denmark and we see the potential for this format in Poland,” says the CEO of Jysk Polska. “A large proportion of our sales are already B2B. We see huge potential and increased demand for Jysk products in hotels, resorts and restaurants, that is why we are developing this side of our business,” he explains.

Over the past financial year ten new stores were opened and 13 are planned for 2019.
