HB Reavis granted highest real estate loan for 2018

SLOVAKIA HB Reavis has been granted a syndicated loan of EUR 175 mln for the construction of its Nivy Station project in Bratislava.

The loan was issued by a consortium of UniCredit Bank, Tatra banka, ČSOB and Hypo-Bank Burgenland with UniCredit acting as the lead arranger. HB Reavis began drawing on the funds in December of 2018.

The Nivy Station is a project that combines a bus terminal and a shopping centre with a marketplace. Eventually the project is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors a day.

This is the highest real estate loan granted in Slovakia over 2018. The legal advisors were Kinstellar for the banking consortium and Dentons on HB Reavis side.

The centre is also to include restaurants and children’s areas as well as a garden roof with a running track and an outdoor gym.

The three storey building will also include two underground levels with the bus station located underground. The project also includes an adjacent office building called Nivy Tower, which has been under construction since May 2017. Financing for the 125m office building was secured earlier from VÚB bank. The leasable area of the project including the office tower will come to over 130,000 sqm.

The station project was designed by UK-based architectural studio Benoy in partnership with the local architects from Siebert + Talaš. HB Reavis began construction work on the station in October last year, and completion of the project is scheduled for 2020. Nivy Tower should be completed in 2019.
