PKP and PFR want to build together

Opr./edited AZ 15 January 2019
POLAND At the end of last year, the Polish State Railways (PKP) and the Polish Development Fund (PFR) together filed applications with the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) to jointly develop a number of residential projects.

The developments would be in four locations:

  • near ul. Robocza, ul. Przemysłowa and ul. Jakuba Wujkas in Poznań
  • near ul. Starkiewicza in Szczecin
  • in two locations in Wrocław – close to ul. Hermanowska, ul. Elbląska and ul. Kołobrzeska as well as to ul. Białowieska

The projects are to be built under the Mieszkanie Plus state housing scheme for young families. The buildings will contain family-sized apartments for rent but with an ownership option. They will be situated on railway plots owned by PKP to be designated for residential development.

An SPV company is to be established for the execution of the projects by the Fundusz Sektora Mieszkań dla Rozwoju FIZAN fund, which is managed by PFR TFI, a proxy of which is PFR Nieruchomości, with both companies being part of the PFR group.

PKP is now one of the largest property owners in Poland. The UOKiK has also published an announcement of a similar application by these entities, for a project at a location near ul. Ordona in Warsaw.
