Ten openings for Starbucks in 2019
The coffee shops chain eventually wants to operate around 140–150 cafés on the Polish market

POLAND Starbucks had 70 cafés in its Polish chain at the end of 2018.

This year the company intends to open at least ten new coffee shops. The 70th outlet of the chain in Poland opened on December 27th on the ground floor of the historic Wołodkiewicz palace at ul. Lubicz 4 just outside Kraków’s Old Town. The new 240 sqm café has 54 seats for customers, including 28 on the patio.

“It is profoundly satisfying for us that we can continue to expand the chain by opening our ninth Starbucks coffee shop in Kraków,” declared Mateusz Sielecki, Starbuck’s regional director for Poland and the Balkans, who insists that the expansion of the chain in Poland will continue: “In 2018 we opened seven new coffee shops and now plan to open a minimum of ten others in 2019. Poland is a very important market for Starbucks and in the next few years we would like to fulfil our potential on the Polish market, which we currently estimate at around 140–150 cafés,” he explains.
