Apsys: 286 contracts signed in 2018
Posnania is lamost fully leased

POLAND Apsys Polska, which manages 25 shopping centres in Poland, signed 286 lease agreements in 2018, half of which were new contracts for a total of 27,600 sqm.

The company also renewed 143 contracts for more than 25,600 sqm last year.

“At the end of 2018 we had 99.69 pct of the space in Posnania leased and just one vacant unit. The mall is very popular with visitors to the city, local shoppers as well as tenants. The same is true of other shopping centres managed by Apsys Polska,” claims Marek Błędowski, the deputy CEO and the commercial director at Apsys Polska.

According to the developer and property manager, Sizeer has opened its largest store in Poland (500 sqm) in Posnania. The mall’s tenant mix includes such brands as Xiaomi, Eobuwie.pl, Iperfumy and Kappahl. Posnania has also signed a contract with Miniso, which is also present in Manufaktura in Łódź and Galeria Katowicka in Katowice. Tenants of the centres managed by Apsys also include Flying Tiger, Diverse, Nakielny (in the Czyżyny centre in Kraków), Action, Pepco, 50 styles, Vistula/Wólczanka (Europa Centralna in Gliwice), Media Expert, New Balance, Sinsay, Deichmann (Focus Park in Włocławek), Tatuum, Jysk (3-Stawy in Katowice), Hebe, Quiosque (Tulipan in Łódź).

“Looking at the market more broadly, we can see that although the global trend is for decreasing demand from investors as well as in the supply of core assets, Poland has maintained its leading position in Central and Eastern Europe since 2015 when it comes to investment in retail space. We are taking advantage of this trend to strengthen the position of Apsys Polska, while working to increase our clients’' revenues,” adds Marek Błędowski.

The company is also following market trends by extending its food & drink offer.

“Shoppers expect access not only the fast food that has dominated in shopping centres thus far, but also a superior standard that meets their individual needs. That’s why we are introducing various concepts such as Moodro Bistro, Papa Diego, Pizza Hut Express, Pasibus, Piezo Rod and Pizzeria 105, as well as more original, often local concepts that are popular with customers to provide added value,” emphasises the commercial director of Apsys Polska.
