Alexander Hayes is currently working as a journalist for Eurobuild Central & Eastern Europe magazine. Originally from the UK, he moved to Poland in 1995 and has been working in real estate for over four years. He has a BA in english literature from the University of Buckingham.

POLAND Echo Investment has announced that over the previous year 16 accidents and 13 minor incidents occurred across 30 construction sites resulting in the loss of 226 working days and that it has been awarded ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 standards for workplace safety.

“We ended the year with an accident frequency rate of 1.9 pct which is lower than the industry average of 2.5 pct. The growing number of our construction sites has resulted in more hazards and risks than in the previous year. Our goal is to have accident-free construction sites. We want everyone to be able to go back home to their families after each working day on a construction site,” says Steve Iddon, the health and safety director at Echo Investment.
