Warsaw appoints Warbud to build art museum
The Museum was to be built by 2020
POLAND Warbud has been appointed as the general contractor for the Museum of Modern Art on pl. Centralny square in Warsaw.
The other bidders in the public tender may yet appeal against the decision. On January 24th, the city of Warsaw decided to increase the budget for the construction work by PLN 180 mln to over PLN 504 mln. The design of the museum, which was originally to be built by 2020, is by Thomas Phifer. When the contract was first put out to tender Warbud bid PLN 417 mln gross, Mirbud PLN 444 mln and Budimex PLN 478.8 mln, but the original budget for the construction work was only PLN 250 mln.
