The City of Poznan Kick-off Meeting:
Sponsored articleAt this prestigious meeting, presentations will be held for two highly attractive post-industrial investment areas of the city – Wolne Tory and Elektrociepłownia [the site of a former heat and power plant].
To inspire potential investors, the city has prepared visualisations for the two sites. The concepts will be presented at MIPIM by Łukasz Mikuła, a member of Poznan city council and an urban development expert.
The Wolne Tory site will certainly be of the greatest interest to investors – because of its size and strategic location in the city centre, close to the railway station and the pavilions of the Poznan International Fair.
“It’s about 100 hectares of land that can be developed and transformed into modern, multifunctional urban space. The property was formerly part of a railway station. Now, in this same location, the City of Poznan is planning to create a new green district of the city,” reveals Bartosz Guss, a Deputy Mayor of Poznan.
Its northern section will be dominated by retail and services, whereas the southern part will have a predominantly residential character. A new tram line is also planned through the new district.
The other site whose potential will be showcased by Poznan at MIPIM fair is Elektrociepłownia Garbary [the former Garbary Heat and Power Plant]. The 10 hectare property is situated on the banks of the river Warta, which is an undoubted advantage for the site, opening up interesting development opportunities for investors. The site also contains several well preserved post-industrial buildings. A zoning plan is being prepared.
At MIPIM 2019, the City of Poznan will also be promoting the potential of other investment sites – more than 30 municipal properties designated for residential, industrial and service projects, as well as four projects for new districts: the above-mentioned Wolne Tory and Elektrociepłownia Garbary as well as Nowe Jeżyce and Unii Lubelskiej.
Once the official part of the programme has ended, those attending will be able to learn more about all the properties Poznan offers by speaking to the city’s representatives.
