More bypasses and expressways

POLAND The EU has awarded subsidies of almost PLN 1.5 bln to support the construction of almost 100 km of new roads in Poland.

The projects will are to be co-financed by the Infrastructure and Environment Programme [POIiŚ]. The total investment in the roads to be constructed will come to over PLN 2.52 bln. The subsidies have been awarded to the following projects: The construction of the S7 expressway from Napierki to Płońsk with a length of over 71 km and a total investment cost of PLN 1.9 bln, of which PLN 1 bln will be paid by the EU. The General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways, intends for the project to be completed by May 12th, 2021. The construction of the Nowe Miasto Lubawskie bypass with a length of 18 km. The new road is to be part of national road no. 15 and the total cost should come to PLN 392.7 mln, of which PLN 303.5 mln is to be paid by the EU. The project is to be completed by mid-2021. The 7 km Dąbrowa Tarnowska bypass on national road no. 73 – the total cost of the project will be PLN 145.1 mln, while the EU subsidy is worth PLN 92.2 mln; the project shouldl be completed by April 2020. The 3km Myśliny bypass on national road no. 46. The total cost of the project will be PLN 51.2 mln, while the EU is to contribute PLN 35.5 mln; the project is to be completed by October 22nd, 2019.
