Rowing into Galeria Mazovia for a bite
The decor of the refurbished food court, named Przystań Smaku, features a boating motif

POLAND The restaurant zone in Galeria Mazovia in Płock, now called Przystań Smaku, re-opened after renovations at the end of June.

The food court is located on the first floor of the mall and covers almost 1,000 sqm. Its decor, inspired by the Płock Rowing Society, one of the oldest clubs in Poland, features original boats, oars, buoys, ropes and other items related to the sport. The furniture is made of the kind of solid wood used to build boats. The number of seats in the new food court has been almost doubled so that around 300 people can eat there. Vsf-creative, which specialises in designs for the retail sector, is responsible for the new look of the food court.

“With seats that resemble the kinds of boats and small ships that can be seen on a river, the restaurant zone is an ideal space for relaxation and meetings with family and friends. Food and drink has become an essential part of our shopping, so it’s important that shopping centres provide a friendly, modern and aesthetically pleasing space for eating. We have created an area in the centre that fulfils all of this,” declared Izabela Tucholska-Oleszczuk, the director of Galeria Mazovia.

Przystań Smaku houses eight tenants: Grand Kebab, Guty, KFC, Makarun, Piano Express, Pizza Hut Express, Palm Smoothie Bar and Solo Pizza. Other restaurants and cafés, such as Karczma pod Strzechą, Inari Sushi, Cafe Zielona Agrafka and Carte D'Or, are located in the arcade of the centre. Galeria Mazovia comprises more than 120 shops, eateries and service outlets. It is owned by CBRE Global Investors’ ESCF fund, while CBRE is responsible for managing the centre.
