Porr to build ski centre in Jakuszyce
The winter sports centre in Szklarska Poręba-Jakuszyce is to be built on a 5,5 ha site

POLAND The Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park has appointed Porr as the lead contractor to construct a cross-country skiing and biathlon centre in Szklarska Poręba-Jakuszyce.

Akme Zdzisław Wiśniewski and Elektromontaż Rzeszów are also to work on the contract, which is worth over PLN 175 mln. The completion date has been set for Q1 2021. The four-storey centre of over 22,000-sqm is to include a sports and conference centre as well as hotel are to be build in Polana Jakuszycka in Poland’s Karkonosze mountains. The contract also includes the development of a 5.5 ha site with around 2.7 ha for sporting use with cross-country and biathlon trails, a football pitch, an athletics track, a roller-blading track, an indoor swimming pool, a toboggan run and a hill cycling track. In total, there will be almost 60 kilometres of ski slopes. The main building will comprise a winter sports museum, a wellness centre and a gym.”The centre will have been built in Szklarska Poręba in two year’s time. It will make Jakuszyce the capital of Polish cross-country skiing as well as of the biathlon,” says Dariusz Wietrzyński a member of the board at Porr.
