POLAND Zeitgeist Asset Management has bought a 19th century building on ul. Wielopole 2 in Kraków, which is partly occupied by the city’s main post office. The property together with a partialy developed plot on ul. Cystersów was sold to Zeitgeist by Orange.
The contract guarantees that the post office will continue to operate, in spite of the renovations which are planned. “In all our projects it is very important to respect the needs of the local community and to preserve the historical character of the buildings. Future renovations will be carried out in a manner that does not hinder the operations of the post office,” says Peter Noack, the co-founder and managing director of Zeitgeist Asset Management.
Renovation work is to begin at the earliest in 2022, before which the building’s facilities are to be modernised for Orange, which has now become the building’s second biggest tenant in the sale and lease back agreement, however much of the building is currently vacant. Baumschlager Eberle Architekten has been invited to create a concept design for the building.
