POLAND Łódź city council has commissioned Deloitte to prepare analyses of the city's economic development programme and investment potential.

Deloitte’s research will cover important areas of the city’s economic potential, in the context of changes taking place in Poland, Europe and the world. It will also provide forecasts regarding its position on Poland’s economic map over the next few years. Central to this is the question of the impact of two flagship projects in Łódź on increasing the attractiveness and development of the city. These include the extensive revitalisation programme and the hosting of the Expo Horticultural 2024 in the city – which will also require a number of infrastructural projects to be carried out.

The purpose of the report will also be to analyse the chances of unleashing the dormant potential of Łódź: from its central location not far from Warsaw (the ‘Duopolis’ concept), to the potential of its labour market and universities in terms of the way the modern economy is expected to develop.

The study will also provide a summary of the positive changes that have taken place in Łódź in recent years as well as an analysis of new opportunities for the city. An important part of the report will be to highlight local success stories – examples of local and regional businesses whose success has been built upon the potential of the city and the region.
