Eurobuild CEE 10 September 2019
POLAND The tram line to Poznan’s Naramowice district was opened on September 2nd.

The construction of the line is only a part of what is the city’s largest infrastructure project, which should be completed in the of spring 2022 at the latest. Eventually the line is to run all the way to the Wilczak terminal. “Work on the other side of ul. Słowiańska, in the Kosynierów Park will start soon. This is the site of a former Protestant cemetery, so the land needs to be archaeological surveys, before a contractor can start laying the new track,” explains Mariusz Wiśniewski, a deputy mayor of Poznań. “The construction of a hub at the junction of ul. Lechicka and ul. Naramowicka wil also an important stage of the project. The work to build the tramline to Naramowice has to be coordinated with the construction of the Lech bridge to reduce the disruption to the people of Poznań,” he adds. The design and build project has investment costs that come to almost PLN 380 mln, of which PLN 155 mln is to come from EU funds. Eventually 3.3 km of track is to be laid and almost 7.5 km of roads are to be built. The general contractor is a consortium of Gülermak and Mosty Łódź.
