Tomek graduated from the faculty of modern languages at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he also started his journalist career in the late 1980s. He has worked in the real estate press since 2005, covering the residential market for ‘Eurobuild CEE’ magazine as well as the new technologies and property management sectors. Sometimes he can be heard on Polish Radio 2, where he reviews the press on the morning programme. At other times he can be seen in the Bieszczady or Beskid Niski mountains, where he enjoys rambling with no fixed purpose or destination in mind.

A total of 47 cities entered

POLAND The European commission has awarded Warsaw the main prize of EUR 150,000 in the Access City Award 2020 competition for improving access for the disabled.

“With the Access City Award, winning cities can be an inspiration for other EU cities and beyond that encounter similar challenges. Warsaw, the winner of the tenth edition, is a model for others, showing that a lot can be done in a very short amount of time and that commitment can be key to success,” said Marianne Thyssen, European commissioner for employment, social affairs, skills and labour mobility at the awards ceremony. A total of 47 cities entered. The second and third places went t Castellóde la Plana in Spain and Skellefteå in Sweden, while Chania in Greece, Tartu n Estonia and Evreux in France received special mentions.
