Bródno station foundation stone laid
POLAND The foundation stone has been laid for the Bródno station on the northeast section of Warsaw’s second metro line.

Bródno station is the main construction site from where the tunnel boring machines will start, which should begin at the start of next year. “The construction of three stations that comprise the Bródno section of the M2 line is on schedule. The construction workers are going deeper underground. After today's foundation stone ceremony, work is going to speed up,” says Rafał Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw. The Bródno section of the metro line comprises the future stations of Zacisze, Kondratowicza and Bródno as well as over 4 km of tunnels. The general contractor for the PLN 1.4 bln contract is a consortium of Gülermak and Astaldi, which should complete the work by the end of September 2021. The project is co-financed by the European Union.
