Częstochowa station redesigned
A total of 23 designs were submitted to the Częstochowa railway competition ompetition
POLAND The competition to find a concept design for the Częstochowa Główna station has been won by a project by Top Projekt Marek Wawrzyniak (Rybnik), NStudio (Paris) and Studio Antonini (Paris).

A total of 23 designs were entered in the competition held by PKP, the Association of Polish Architects in Częstochowa, Częstochowa city council and PKS Częstochowa. The design is for a transport hub with buses and trains and comprises two glazed buildings with the eastern building to be a ticket office with access to the underground sections of the station. The western building will include a small waiting room as well as ticket vending machines and toilets. Second and third prizes went to: Domino Grupa Architektoniczna Wojciech Dunaj (Szczecin) and 22 Architekci (Warsaw) and three distinctions were also awarded to Atrium Autorskie Studio Architektury Mateusz Urbański (Poznań), Kacper Rojek (Aleksandrów Łódzki), Firma ‘TU’ Tomasz Ulman (Żarki) and Topos Studio Piotr Bilski (Częstochowa). The rebuilding of the station is part of the PKP Railway Investment Programme for 2016-2023.
