Toshiba plant to open in Gniezno
The facility is to be built on 3.7 ha plot and will have a floor area of 17,000 sqm

POLSKA Toshiba Carrier Corporation is to invest around EUR 25 mln (over PLN 100,000 mln) in a HVAC manufacturing plant and distribution centre in Gniezno in Poland’s Wielkopolska region.

For the company, which is an HVAC joint-venture between Toshiba Corporation and Carrier Corporation, this will be its first manufacturing base in Europe. The facility is to be built on 3.7 ha plot and will have a floor area of 17,000 sqm. The plant is to reduce production run time by a third as well as product costs, while bolstering the company’s product line to cater for the particular needs in Europe. It should open by the end of 2020.

“The quality of Poland’s workforce, proximity to Western Europe and attractive investment incentives are the major factors in Toshiba Carrier locating its first European manufacturing base in the country,” explained TCC in an announcement.
