New Moscow has new schools
With the inclusion of the New Moscow district in 2012, Moscow more than doubled in size
RUSSIA A total of 55 new schools and nursery schools have been built by private investors in the New Moscow district since 2012, when it was incorporated into the Russian capital.

Such social infrastructure is an investment priority. The development has a budget of RUB 43 bln (around EUR 520 mln) for public buildings largely funded from private investors and the budget is set to increase to RUB 45mln over the following years. “Over the last eight years, the number of places in New Moscow schools have increased by 70 pct. According to our data, 47 pct of all apartment purchases in New Moscow are made by families with one child, while a further 23 pct have two children,” says Maria Litinieckaja, the managing partner of real estate company Metrium. New Moscow will have a population of 1.5 mln people by 2035, and the district will provide workplaces for around 1 mln people. When New Moscow was incorporated into the city, Moscow increased in size by 148,000 ha and jumped from the eleventh to the sixth largest city by area in Europe.
