NEPI Rockcastle donates to the Red Cross

Eurobuild CEE 24 March 2020

CEE REGION NEPI Rockcastle has donated EUR 150,000 to the Red Cross to support efforts to prevent the spread of the covid-19 epidemic. The money is to be used to purchase disinfectants and equipment.

The company reports that businesses deemed non-essential by the authorities in shopping centres in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia are now closed, while pharmacies and grocery stores remain open in all locations. Despite the restrictions the company also points out that two of its biggest international tenants are Auchan and Carrefour, both of which are still operating and seeing higher than usual revenues. Around 67 pct of the company’s space is leased by large international chains, reducing the risk of foreclosure when business finally returns to normal.
