POLAND Two years after the launch of construction work motorists can now use the 15 km Rzeszów ring road, which includes a section of the A4 motorway (the Rzeszów Centre interchange) and a section of the S19 expressway (the Stobierna–Rzeszów East interchange).
The general contractors for the two respective sections were a consortium led by Mostostal Warszawa (in a contract worth app. PLN 440 mln gross) and a consortium led by MSF Engenharia (in an app. PLN 213 mln gross contract). The road project was co-financed from the Cohesion Fund as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme. Around 2,100 km of motorways and expressways have now been built in Poland.
