Eurobuild TV: Apps for workspace control will soon be helping many businesses

“The technology helps to make better use of the space available, that is, to reduce spending and improve employee performance,” claims Bogusz Parzyszek, the operational lead at Workplace Solutions.
“Most directors of organisations of 2,000 or 3,000 people, or even those with 1,000 employees wouldn’t be able to tell you how many desks are spare in each of their departments. There is special software, such as Archibus, which enables monitoring of the workspace available and can help to locate a much-needed desk,” explains Bogusz Parzyszek. He also adds that tools of this kind can help to find the most suitable workspace when specific conditions are required, for example, when I need to work in silence, or there is a sudden business meeting to arrange. “We expect that such technological solutions will soon be helping many businesses. Moreover, there are mobile apps already in use for improving the quality of office work. There are also apps that control how much time we spend sitting down or standing at work. To give you an example, I work in a standing position almost 30 pct of time, but sometimes I forget to change my position and spend too much time sitting, even though getting up from the chair from time-to-time would give me much more energy at work. Apps could supply us with statistics on how much time we spend sitting, educate us on the issue, and give us more information on how to increase our efficiency and motivation, etc. There are many app functionalities still to be explored!” says Bogusz Parzyszek.
