Anna Maria Pawlak-Kuliga

A new president for Ikea in Poland is to be appointed on September 1st. The position is to be taken by a Pole – Anna Pawlak-Kuliga – for the first time in the history of the company. She will replace Evelyn Higler, who will work in the global structures of the company from September. Anna Pawlak-Kuliga started her career at Ikea eight years ago in one of the shops in London, where she took the position of a business navigator. In the following years she was promoted within Ikea’s internal structures in the UK. She returned to Poland in 2012, initially as a member of the board of Ikea Retail and a year later was appointed vice-president. She cooperated closely with Evelyn Higler throughout this time. She also sat on the board of Ikea Property and on the supervisory board of Ikea Distribution Southern and Eastern Europe.

The future president emphasises that she is planning to continue the company’s ambitious development strategy for the Polish market, which envisages a more than fivefold increase in turnover by 2035, from the current level of PLN 3 bln to PLN 16 bln. Anna Maria spends her free time with her family, travelling and getting to know new cultures. She also likes spending her time actively, in the mountains and at the seaside. She practices kite-surfing, reads a great deal and is interested in personal development and psychology.
