POLAND On January 31st, Maria Andrzej Faliński, the general director of the Polish Organisation of Trade and Distribution [POHiD], will step down.
Over the past 16 years of working for the organisation Maria Andrzej Faliński was responsible for representing the interests of the industry to the government and was actively involved in a dialogue with the public authorities. Renata Juszkiewicz, who has been the president of the organisation since 2008 will take over as the managing president of the organisation being also the vice-president of the Lewiatan confederation. Since 2013 she has been the vice-president of EuroCommerce (a European trade organisation headquartered in Brussels), representing the industry before EU institutions. Renata Juszkiewicz has been involved with retail trade for 20 years and from 2000 until the end of 2016 she was the director of the representative office of Metro AG in Poland, acting on behalf of such companies as: Makro Cash and Carry, Media Saturn Holding and Real.
