POLAND Open networking meetings, the Success Stories newsletter, as well as new initiatives such as the Expert Database and a cycle of Women’s Leadership training sessions… these are among the activities planned for this year by the Ladies First association of female business leaders.

The association, which was established in October 2016, is the first networking platform of this kind in Poland. It brings together female managers from industry, logistics, real estate and other business sectors of key importance. There are now over 90 members of the association, representing key companies on the market. The people in charge of the association’s activities are: Katarzyna Pyś-Fabiańczyk (BNP Paribas Real Estate), Dagmara Głowacka (DGAcademy) and Marta Kołodziejska (Goodman).

“What sets us apart is the specificity of our ever expanding group, our willingness to support each other and the need to engage women who have achieved a great deal in their professional careers and want to change the way things are,” declares Katarzyna Pyś-Fabiańczyk, the president of the association. “I am convinced that our project will have a genuine influence on the fight against stereotypical thinking, the breaking of internal and external barriers as well as the introduction of institutional approaches in business,” she adds.

The project for the creation of the Expert Database, which will include women specialising in the management of various business fields, has been developed to strengthen the representation of women in industry and Polish media. Members include women with wide experience, knowledge and competence who can make professional public presentations and comment on the market. The business leadership training sessions held by the organisation are designed to improve the transfer of practical knowledge and provide support to women in terms of shaping their professional career as well as gaining and prefacing competences.
