POLAND Żabka Polska, the owner of the Żabka and Freshmarket store chains, has leased 24,700 sqm of space in the MLP Gliwice logistics park in Szałsza, 6 km north of Gliwice.

Almost 23,800 sqm of the space leased will be used for warehousing purposes, including app. 4,000 sqm of cold stores and deep freeze stores. The remaining space will be used for social and office purposes. The facility should be delivered in November 2017. “We want to be as close as possible to our customers and to our franchisees, so we have committed to the continuing development of our logistics architecture. For the execution of such large projects we want to work with our tested business partners,” explained Krzysztof Andrzejewski, the COO and vice-CEO of Żabka Polska.

Such BTS projects form part of MLP’s expansion strategy. In 2017 the company is focused on maintaining its pace of growth at least at last year’s level. “In addition to the park in Gliwice, we would like to launch several new projects in Poland and also near Dortmund and Bucharest,” added Radosław T.
