Argon fills up retail section
Alchemia is under development by Torus
POLAND Eleven tenants have signed leases totalling 1,700 sqm in the ground floor retail section of the Argon building, which represents the third stage of the Alchemia complex, which is being developed by Torus on al. Grunwaldzka and ul. Kołobrzeska in Gdańsk.

Starbucks, Gorąco Polecam Nowakowski and Subway are among the catering tenants set to open in the building. Additionally there will be Sugoi Sushi, Alchemia Wina, and Pizza Pasta & Basta.

“From Monday to Friday the menu will be standardised. At weekends dishes will be prepared to order. Argon is an excellent location for such an outlet, which should ensure a lot of customers provided the prices are competitive,” says Leszek Mięczkowski, the creator of the Pizza Pasta & Basta chain and the founder of the Dobry Hotel group.

Enjoy Food & Life is also to open a health food restaurant in the building. “I had been thinking about such an restaurant for a long time, even before the construction work began on the building so this represents the realisation of a long-held dream,” says Ewelina Sasin, the founder the restaurant.

Two more catering tenants are to be announced soon.

“The catering services in the building are to be considerably extended and complemented by a retail point and a bank branch,” says Marcin Piątkowski, the commercialisation director at Torus. (The company has also announced that ING Bank, which also leases office space in the complex, and convenience store chain Żabka have signed leases for units in the retail section of the building.)

The Argon building is a 14-storey H-shaped development designed by APA Wojciechowski Architekci with a gla of nearly 39,000 sqm. The area of a typical office floor comes to 3,000 sqm.

The first tenants should open for business as soon as the building is awarded an occupancy permit in September this year, which is earlier than the originally planned delivery date. The building is to be LEED certified with VvS | Architects & Consultants acting as the LEED consultant.
