POLAND/CZECH REPUBLIC AmRest, which holds the franchise rights for KFC and Pizza Hut in Poland and other countries in the region, has become the majority shareholder of Restaurant Partner Polska, the company which operates PizzaPortal.pl, while 49 pct shares are still owned by Delivery Hero – the previous sole owner.

The price for the acquisition of the 51 pct stake was PLN 10 mln. Furthermore, the parties have undertaken to invest PLN 14 mln (PLN 7 mln each) in Restaurant Partner Polska in Q1 2018. According to the investment contract, AmRest will also begin cooperation with Delivery Hero’s services in the Czech Republic and Hungary – DameJidlo.cz and NetPincér.hu – over the next few months. The online sales platforms will strengthen the home delivery sales channel of AmRest’s portfolio. The management board of the company believes that its partnership with Delivery Hero will significantly increase the availability of the range of restaurants managed by AmRest and help it to reach new customers, thus strengthening its market position.
