TXM on road to recovery

POLAND TXM sales have been rising faster than its sales area as it returns to economic health after the problems it encountered on introducing its ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. In September 2017 its turnover came to app. PLN 36 mln, up 19 pct y-o-y.

Online sales came to PLN 0.9 mln, up by 3 pct y-o-y. Sales since the beginning of the year came to PLN 265 mln, up 2 pct y-o-y while online sales for the period were up by 10 pct to around PLN 6.5 mln. At the end of September 2017 the TXM had a chain of 399 stores with a combined area of 104,800 sqm (10 pct more y-o-y). “As we had been expecting at the end of August, we had good sales from the beginning of September resulting from the postponement of school shopping with our sales for the month exceeding the growth of the chain. This improvement shows that the company has regained its operational efficiency after the troubles with introducing our new ERP system. In spite of this there is still a struggle with the results of inaccurate stock planning, which has resulted in excessive sales promotions and a decrease in our margins when compared to the previous year,” said Marcin Gregorowicz, the CEO of TXM.
