Golub to build Praga student halls
Czarek Jarząbek, founder, CEO, Golub GetHouse
POLAND Golub GetHouse has bought a 1.15 ha investment plot at ul. Jagiellońska 82 in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district for a student housing project.

In the first stage of the project, a hall for 430 students is to be built on the site, which is located opposite Koźmiński University. It will also include a gym, study rooms, a computer centre, a lounge, a round-the-clock reception, a car park, cafés and restaurants. The investment is a joint enterprise between Golub GetHouse Property Fund II FIZ and US student accommodation developer CA Ventures.

Czarek Jarząbek, the founder and CEO of Golub GetHouse, has commented: “We are going to build the first state-of-the-art student house in our Warsaw portfolio. We are confident this will turn out to be a great success. We absolutely believe in the development of this segment of the property market. For this reason, we have created a special partnership with Chicago-based CA Ventures, which has extensive experience in the building and management of student halls. Our partner has built facilities totaling more than 10,000 beds in all major American academic cities.”

LSW Leśnodorski Ślusarek i Wspólnicy advised the buyer for the acquisition of the plot. Work is currently in progress on the architectural design, with the construction work scheduled to begin in Q4 2018. This is Golub GetHouse’s second foray into the student accommodation market, with the first now under construction in the former Telpod electronics factory on ul. Romanowicza in Kraków’s Zabłocie district. The renovated building will provide accommodation for 600 students and should be completed in the 2019/2020 academic year.
