Gazprom returns to building site
Gazprom could be developing one of the tallest buildings in Minsk
BELARUS Work on the construction of the Gazprom Center in Minsk will resume this spring.

The most spectacular element of the complex is supposed to be an office tower of nearly 200m. Construction work began on the over-8-ha site of the former Moskowskij bus station in the centre of the city in 2015. The investor behind the project is Gazprom Transgaz Belarus. The complex will include offices as well as a hotel, a car park, a sports and recreation complex and a medical centre. The tallest building could reach a height of 185m and 35 floors which would make it the tallest building in Minsk, but it is uncertain whether the development is to be constructed exactly to the original design. The project was originally suspended in H2 2016 following a gas dispute between Russia and Belarus but rumours of the project’s resumption began to circulate around the beginning of this year. These rumours have now been confirmed by general contractor Codest, which is a subsidiary of Italian-based Rizzani De Eccher subsidiary. Work on the project will begin soon with work to be completed by the end of 2020.
