Monnari goes for space over revenue
POLAND Clothing chain Monnari increased its total sales area by 5.6 pct in 2017 to 33,300 sqm and closed the year with 164 stores.

“For 2017, Monnari has recorded a consolidated net profit of PLN 21.76 mln which compares to PLN 35.82 mln from the previous year. Sales revenue increased to PLN 247.44 mln from PLN 231.77 mln,” said Miłosz Kolbuszewski, the financial director of Monnari. Revenue rose by 6.8 pct, which was less than the percentage rise in retail space. The margin for 2017 came in at 55.4 pct with the sales from comparable stores increasing 10 pct on 2016. Internet sales increased by 26 pct. The company is currently constructing a central warehouse on ul. Dąbrowskiego in Łódź, which should be delivered in mid-2018. Monnari is also currently selling real estate in Łódź and acquiring the Simple Creative Products chain from Gino Rossi. The company is targeting a 5-7 pct increase in the number of its stores over 2018.
