POLAND The foundation stone was laid in Pabianice for the construction of the Tkalnia shopping centre, which is being developed by A&A at the site of the former Krusche & Ender textile factory.
“Work on the implementation of the factory is on schedule. The foundation stone laying ceremony symbolizes the end of the earthwork phase and the transition to the main construction phase. We will be able to celebrate the opening of the shopping centre as soon as next year,” says Michał Wuczyński, the CEO of Awbud, which is the general contractor of the facility. Awbud is to collect PLN 45 mln net for the execution of the contract. The Tkalnia shopping and entertainment centre will have 12,000 sqm. It will comprise 40 stores and 230 parking spaces. Its tenants will include Media Expert, Smyk, Play, Hebe, CCC, Empik, Martes Sport and KiK. The first multiplex in the town, under the name Helios, will be part of the project. “From the design stage of the facility we addressed customers’ expectations, consulting with them the preferences regarding the name of the shopping centre and the demand for individual tenants. Consequently, we will offer residents the first multiplex in the town. We also plan cyclical events that will take place in a specially designated zone. Furthermore, Tkalnia will be connected to the A&A golf course. We are currently building more attractions – the New Centre of Golf which will be open all year round and will include a salt grotto and graduation tower with brine as well as a sport and recreation shooting range,” says Adrian Majsterek, of A&A. The Blue Ocean Investment Group (BOIG) is responsible for leasing retail space. The official opening of the building is planned for H1 2019.
