Tomek graduated from the faculty of modern languages at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he also started his journalist career in the late 1980s. He has worked in the real estate press since 2005, covering the residential market for ‘Eurobuild CEE’ magazine as well as the new technologies and property management sectors. Sometimes he can be heard on Polish Radio 2, where he reviews the press on the morning programme. At other times he can be seen in the Bieszczady or Beskid Niski mountains, where he enjoys rambling with no fixed purpose or destination in mind.

POLAND The Lokum Deweloper group recorded an increase in sales in the first six months of 2018, after signing preliminary and development agreements for 531 units (a y-o-y increase of 21 pct).

The group is still on target to sell more than 1,000 units this year. The total number of preliminary, development and booking agreements was also up on the previous year – 699 such contracts were signed in H1 2018 (628 in the same period in 2017). The company’s total sales in H1 comprised 408 units in Wrocław and 123 in Kraków.

“We have been seen unwavering interest in our apartments, from the investment buyers and people buying for their own housing needs. Despite the increase in residential prices, we expect to surpass 1,000 units sold, as we did last year,” forecasts Bartosz Kuźniar, the CEO of Lokum Deweloper.

As in 2017, most of the units will be delivered, transferred and recognised in its financial results for H2. In Q2 2018, as a result of a fairly diminished sales offer, sales decreased by 29 pct (from 321 to 227 premises) and the number of bookings fell by 12 pct (from 190 to 168 units).

“At the end of Q2, the offer increased to 928 units compared to 516 at the end of March. We are planning to start the sales of other projects in Wrocław and Kraków this year, comprising around 600 apartments,” reveals Bartosz Kuźniar.
