No paperwork for holiday homes
POLAND DMDmodular has started the production and sale of A35V year-round modular houses.

Prices start from PLN 120,000. The modular-houses each have 27 sqm of usable space. Each consists of a living room with kitchenette, a bathroom and a bedroom. Due to their size, no building permit is needed to assemble it – a process that only takes a few hours. Nevertheless, according to Polish building law it qualifies as a residential building, a recreational and tourist accommodation building, as well as a year-round holiday home. They are built around a single frame 3.4m wide and 9.9 m long. The homes arrive fully finished and equipped (with household appliances such as a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher) at their final location, which is a previously prepared foundation connected to underground installations. The bedroom can be transformed in one movement by folding away the wall bed, turning the space into a living room or studio. The A35V house is the first of the manufacturer’s Modular Smart Living series. This will include two more models – A40V and A49V, measuring 40 sqm and 49 sqm respectively. The producer explains that the houses can function as a ‘second home’ outside the city, as well as complement hotel and recreation infrastructure, allowing the owners of resort complexes to instantly expand their accommodation base. “In Polish culture, small volume residential buildings can be negatively associated with the summer houses most of us remember from our family holidays. Modular Smart Living is a completely different system. The products in this series are an entirely different standard to this and are made of modern, high-quality materials,” emphasises Ewelina Woźniak-Szpakiewicz.
