POLAND A campus is to be constructed on ul. Chodkiewicza for the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz in an investment of over PLN 100 mln.

The 4,500 sqm building is being constructed o n a 3 ha plot. The centre is to be part of a new music district that will stretch to the extended ul. Paderewskiego and include the buildings of the Pomeranian Philharmonic orchestra. The site includes a former clay pit which is to be converted into a park and recreation area. Till now the academy has occupied a number of buildings in the city. The new building is to include recital rooms, orchestra pits, a stage for operas and organ rooms. All four concert rooms will be linked and will be easily accessible both from the main building and from the street. The design, which was chosen in a competition, is by Plus3 Architekci. Currently the project is at the planning permission stage. The entire project is to be completed within a 60-month period. The land, which is valued at PLN 9 mln was donated by the city, and the project is to be financed from the national budget.
