POLAND A lack of supply in attractive hotels has in recent years attracted many investors to the Łódź hotel market.
Most new hotels will have either three of four stars but no five star hotel has yet been developed on the market according to the latest report by Walter Herz on the Łodź hotel market.

Currently the city has 33 star-rated hotels and over 3,200 guest rooms including six four-star hotels, 16 with three stars, nine with two stars and two with just one. Eleven of these hotels operate as part of a hotel chain and account for over 50 pct of the rooms. The chains include Hilton Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Vienna House, Louvre Hotels Group (LHG), B&B Hotels, Orbis/Accor, Focus, AMW Hotele, Qubus, and Likus.

A number of apartments for short-term rental have come onto the market with the conversion of former industrial buildings including Lofty u Scheiblera at ul. Tymienieckiego 25. The building was originally a 19th century cotton mill. Around 130 aparthotels operate in the city.

Up until 2008, the city had no four-star hotel, but four years later 25 new facilities had entered the market with 4,250 beds, including three four-star hotels. The first modern hotel in Łódź was the four-star Andel’s built in 2009 and was followed by the Ambasador hotel on al. Piłsudskiego in 2010 and Holiday Inn opened in 2012 with Novotel Centrum Łódź hotel opened a year later.
