Galeria Olimp in Lublin now has a total area of almost 60,000 sqm

POLAND In 2018 the redevelopment of the oldest, app. 4,000 sqm section of the Galeria Olimp shopping centre in Lublin was carried out, while new tenants have also opened in the centre.

Last year the additions to Olimp’s tenant mix included Maxi Zoo, Telezakupy Mango, a Tkan Styl haberdashery (almost 130 sqm) and Polish jewellery chain Briju, which opened its second store in the city. As a result of these openings, customers of the centre can now buy such brands as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Versace, Guess and Pepe Jeans. Several tenants also decided to renew their contracts, including Reserved, House, Mohito, Apart, CCC, Pepco, Giacomo Conti, Cukiernia Williams, a Koziołek children’s entertainment centre, Klub Masters (a bowling alley, pool and snooker club), Orange and Millennium Bank. Lease agreements were also extended by the Big Star, Monnari and 4F, all of which opted to double the area of ​​their stores.

“As well as international brands, tenants from the local market, who have been with us since the beginning of our operations, make up an important part of our product range. Their presence strengthens our position on the local market,” declares Tomasz Dębiec, the director of the mall.

Galeria Olimp, which opened in 2000, was the first shopping and entertainment centre in Lublin and is now the second largest in the city. It has since been renovated and enlarged several times (to almost 60,000 sqm with almost 2,000 parking spaces). The centre has an annual footfall of 7 mln customers. Its largest tenants are currently Multikino, Carrefour, Stokrotka and Leroy Merlin. Colliers International is the leasing agent for the owner of the complex, Lublin-based Transhurt.

“With the modernisation of the oldest section, the shopping centre can now compete with confidence with newer centres and attract international brands, as has been confirmed by the lease agreements signed in 2018. In addition, according to a report by Colliers International, Galeria Olimp can boast one of the richest entertainment tenant mixes of the shopping centres located in smaller cities,” claims Michał Urbanek of the retail agency at Colliers.
