Disappointing start of year for Romanian logistics

Eurobuild CEE 10 June 2019

ROMANIA The Romanian industrial and logistics market recorded disappointing figures for Q1 this year with total leasing transactions down by over 50 pct y-o-y (almost 30,000 sqm versus 74,000 sqm in Q1 2018), according to figures from Colliers International.

The consultancy expects the market to improve in the second half of the year due to robust private consumption and a strong pipeline and points out that last year’s fourth quarter alone accounted for half of 2018’s activity. The six most developed logistic markets outside Bucharest are Constanța , Alba, Timiș, Prahova, Ilfov and Cluj. These six locations together with Bucharest have 1.5 times the county average in transported goods and make up a third of the national freight transport.
