Mirbud to demolish and build Opole sports hall
One of the innovations in the sports complex will be a mezzanine running track

POLAND Mirbud has been awarded a contract with Opole city council to demolish the ‘Cieplak’ hall to make way for a new sports hall on the site.

The PLN 37.5 mln gross contract involves the construction of a sports hall with accompanying facilities and the development of adjacent areas for sports purposes as well as the demolition of the existing hall building. The completion of the work has been scheduled for October 29th, 2021.

The multi-functional training hall will include a full-size indoor sports pitch and a small stand. One of its innovative features will be a mezzanine running track. Inside the hall there will also be a 15m climbing wall as well as squash and martial arts rooms with sanitary and sports facilities. The new building will adjoin the city’s Stegu Arena.

The area around the hall’s exterior will also be designed along the lines of the governmental ‘Orlik’ scheme for developing public sports grounds. It will have football pitch with an artificial surface and stands, as well as concrete courts (for e.g. basketball or volleyball), roller skating and cycling circuits with a pump track, outdoor gyms and a playground. The courts will be converted into an ice rink in the winter.
